However, the 2019 central government files advocate "Expanding the import of domestic agricultural products in short supply and extending diversified import channels", which provides some opportunities for the import of small agricultural products. Considering the market demand in 2018, China imported 60,800 tons of flax seed from Russia and 56,500 tons from Canada in the first four months of 2019, demonstrating a year-on-year increase of 261% from Russia, larger than year-on-year increase from Canada for the first time and setting a historical record. However, in the first four months of this year, China's imports of peas were basically the same as last year while the imports of barley decreased by 26%. China imported only 16,100 tons of sorghum in the first four months, a decrease of 99.3% compared with the same period of last year. Since opportunities and challenges coexist, how should we be prepared?
